The Baxter 6201 Infusion Pump features configurable settings allowing the pump to be custom-tailored to best suit the hospital's needs, computer control capability allows remote control or monitoring via a standard RS232-C interface. The Baxter 6201 pumps a wide variety of fluids, including blood and fat emulsions. It is suitable for use in epidural administration, has a safety clamp which automatically occludes the tubing when the pump door is opened, occlusion sensors which detect both upstream and downstream restrictions, and flow check display shows resistance to flow. The Baxter 6201 also boasts an ultrasonic air-in-line detector with selectable sensitivity through it's configuration, a programmed delivery profile (PDP), a slide clamp loading option providing low shutoff when I.V. set is removed from the pump, a locking control panel, an independent secondary medication program, volume-time programming, automatic self-test and has an easily replaceable fuse, battery, and power cord.
